- Both SRP + L and SRP alone significantly reduced PD and BOP, and increased CAL.
- No significant differences in clinical outcomes were observed between the two groups.
- GCF IL-1β levels also showed no significant difference between SRP + L and SRP alone.
Conclusions:
- Adjunctive diode laser therapy offers no clinical benefit over SRP alone for inflamed periodontal sites during maintenance.
- SRP remains the standard of care for managing inflamed sites in periodontal maintenance.
