Comparative Effectiveness of Antibiotic Prophylaxis in Cataract Surgery

- Surgical complications, such as posterior capsular rupture, are critical risk factors for endophthalmitis.
- Intracameral antibiotic administration is superior to topical antibiotic monotherapy for preventing post-cataract extraction endophthalmitis.
- Adding topical antibiotics to an intracameral regimen does not enhance its effectiveness.
