Abstract:
The authors consider machanisms and peculiarities of development of atherosclerosis at the tissue level and the main characteristics of atherogenesis, viz. lipoidosis, fibrosis, enhanced intimacyte proliferation, local intima-media thickening. Results of counting subendothelial cells, assessment of their proliferative and synthetic activities in affected and intact arterial segments are presented Variants of lipid metabolism disorders are described.
