Abstract:
The pharmacology and mechanisms of action of angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors are reviewed in this article together with discussions on their acute and hemodynamic effects; influence on regional blood flow and renal responses; clinical efficacy and adverse effects; and their impact on survival in severe congestive heart failure.
