Endoscopic Vacuum Therapy in Colorectal Surgery

Background:

• Endoscopic vacuum therapy (EVT) is established in Germany for treating anastomotic leakage post-rectal resection.
• EVT utilizes suction and drainage to reduce bacterial load, decrease secretions and edema, and promote tissue healing.
• Limited data and short follow-up exist for EVT in colorectal surgery.

Purpose of the Study:

• To analyze the treatment spectrum of EVT for lower gastrointestinal defects.
