Esophageal diverticula are associated with propagating peristalsis: a study utilizing high-resolution manometry

Esophageal diverticula patients often show normal or hypercontractile peristalsis. Abnormal esophageal pressurization patterns may link to diverticula, but the causal relationship is unclear.
