  • Inner ear barotrauma was suggested in one case with vertigo and hearing threshold changes.

Conclusions:

  • Physicians must be aware of potential middle and inner ear barotrauma as HBOT complications.
  • Age and sex are significant risk factors for HBOT-related otological issues.
  • Prompt evaluation and management are necessary for symptomatic patients to ensure continued safe HBOT.
