Ophthalmic implications of seasonal affective disorder

A review of seasonal affective disorder (SAD) is presented with a discussion of its standard treatment of phototherapy. A number of ophthalmic implications related to SAD are proposed. These implications relate to both the condition and the phototherapy used in its treatment, especially the use of "full spectrum" light which contains ultraviolet and near ultraviolet radiation.
