Abstract:
Failure to recognise the development of a severe asthma attack has cost the lives of many patients. The difficulties in identifying severe asthma together with problems associated with the interpretation both of physical signs and the results of investigations are discussed. Aspects of treatment and suggestions of plans of management are presented.
