    Summary

    Erythema exudativum multiforme (EM) is a skin condition often triggered by herpes simplex virus (HSV) infection. This case study highlights characteristic EM lesions developing after HSV infection in a young male patient.

    Background:

    • Erythema exudativum multiforme (EM) is an acute mucocutaneous condition with unclear etiology.
    • Herpes simplex virus (HSV) infection is identified as a trigger in 50%-60% of EM cases.
    • EM lesions present as macules, erosions, ulcerations, and hemorrhagic crusts.

    Observation:

    • A case study involving a 22-year-old male with EM.

    Findings:

    • The patient presented with characteristic EM lesions.
    • The onset of lesions was associated with a preceding HSV infection.

    Implications:

    • This case reinforces the link between HSV infection and the development of Erythema exudativum multiforme.
