  • Overall success rate was 84.4%; procedural failure in 2.1%.
  • Self-calibration significantly improved Qmax at 1 year (p=0.003) and reduced re-treatments (12.3% vs. 20.5%).
  • Focal and bulbar strictures had better outcomes; iatrogenic and pan-anterior strictures had poorer outcomes.

Conclusions:

  • Balloon dilation with self-calibration enhances flow rates and decreases auxiliary procedures.
  • This method is simple, repeatable, and effective under local anesthesia.
