Sleep duration and mortality in the elderly: a systematic review with meta-analysis

- Daytime napping (≥30 min) was linked to higher all-cause mortality risk.
Conclusions:
- Short and long sleep durations are significant risk factors for all-cause mortality in the elderly.
- Long sleep duration is also associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular mortality.
