[Interrelationship wisdom teeth dystopia and internal TMJ disorders: a clinical case]

• The etiological factor was identified as the dystopia of tooth 4.8 (a third molar).

Findings:

• Surgical removal of the malpositioned third molar (tooth 4.8) led to complete recovery of TMJ function.
• Malposition of third molars can be a direct cause of internal derangements within the TMJ.
• CT and MRI of the TMJ, along with occlusion investigations, are crucial for diagnosing non-reducing disk displacement.
