We derived an exact formula for radiated energy from accelerating quarks in N=2 superconformal theories. This formula predicts perturbative and instanton corrections, matching N=4 theories.
Area of Science:
- High-energy theoretical physics
- Quantum field theory
- Supersymmetry
Background:
- Understanding particle acceleration in quantum field theories is crucial.
- Superconformal theories, particularly N=2 and N=4, offer unique frameworks for studying such phenomena.
- The energy radiated by accelerating quarks is a key observable.
Purpose of the Study:
- To propose an exact formula for the energy radiated by an accelerating quark in four-dimensional N=2 superconformal theories.
- To establish a predictive framework for perturbative and instanton corrections in these theories.
- To verify the formula against known results and perform perturbative checks.
Main Methods:
- Derivation of an exact formula using theoretical physics principles.
- Comparison with the known bremsstrahlung function in N=4 superconformal theories.
- Perturbative calculations up to three-loop order to check the proposed formula.
Main Results:
- An exact formula for radiated energy in N=2 superconformal theories has been proposed.
- The formula successfully reproduces the bremsstrahlung function for N=4 theories.
- Predictions for all perturbative and instanton corrections in N=2 theories are provided.
Conclusions:
- The proposed exact formula offers a significant advancement in understanding particle radiation in supersymmetric quantum field theories.
- This work provides a testable prediction for future experimental and theoretical investigations.
- The consistency with N=4 theories suggests the generality and robustness of the approach.
