Single Low-Density Lipoprotein Apheresis Does Not Improve Vascular Endothelial Function in Chronically Treated

Low-density lipoprotein (LDL) apheresis acutely lowers cholesterol but does not impact vascular endothelial function (VEF) or oxidative stress in hypercholesterolemic patients. Vitamin E and nitro-gamma-tocopherol levels decrease post-treatment.

- The procedure does not appear to alter oxidative stress or nitric oxide homeostasis.
- Significant reductions in vitamin E and NGT suggest their removal during apheresis.
