A huge osteolipoma involving the coronoid process: a case report

Summary
Osteolipoma, a rare tumor of bone and fat, can cause trismus. Surgical removal of this zygomatic arch osteolipoma improved mouth opening significantly in a patient.

- The mass adhered to the right coronoid process.
Findings:
- Histopathological diagnosis confirmed the tumor as an osteolipoma.
- Surgical excision (tumorectomy) was performed.
Implications:
- Tumorectomy successfully resolved the trismus, with mouth opening improving from 31 mm to 50 mm at 2-year follow-up.
- This case highlights osteolipoma as a potential cause of trismus and demonstrates the efficacy of surgical management.
- Accurate radiological assessment and histopathological examination are crucial for diagnosing and managing osteolipomas.
