A Novel Method for the Separation of Overlapping Pollen Species for Automated Detection and Classification

Automated pollen identification accelerates palynology applications. This study developed a system achieving 100% segmentation and over 96% classification accuracy for 12 Mexican pollen species, even when overlapping.
