Use of Hippotherapy With a Boy After Traumatic Brain Injury: A Case Study

Purpose:
The purpose of this case report was to describe the use of hippotherapy with a boy who sustained a brain injury.
Key Points:
A 13-year-old boy, 6 months after traumatic brain injury received 12 physical therapy sessions, which included hippotherapy. Improvements were noted in balance, strength, gross motor skills, gait speed, functional mobility, and reported participation.

Hippotherapy used with a 13-year-old boy after traumatic brain injury may have had a positive effect in the body structure, activity, and participation domains.
