Abstract:
A remarkable new sublittoral red alga is described from New Zealand. A detailed account of its morphology is provided. A new genus, Pseudoanemonia, is proposed for it and the specific epithet P. tentacula. It is placed in a new family, Pseudoanemoniaceae.
