Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) show impaired facial affect recognition (FAR), unlike those with Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Attentional distractibility impacts FAR in both ASD and ADHD, suggesting targeted interventions may be beneficial.
