Thyroid Function in Patients with Cystic Fibrosis: No Longer a Concern?

Thyroid dysfunction is uncommon in cystic fibrosis (CF) patients, with overt disease being rare. This study found marginal hypothyroxinemia, likely due to nonthyroidal illness, and no significant predictors of thyroid issues in CF.

- Marginal hypothyroxinemia was observed, potentially linked to nonthyroidal illness rather than primary thyroid disease.
- No significant predictors for thyroid dysfunction were found in this CF population.
