Massive craniospinal collagen deposition after persistent postoperative intraventricular bleeding.

Summary

A rare complication following brain biopsy is persistent intraventricular hemorrhage leading to obstructive hydrocephalus. Autopsy revealed extensive collagen deposition, highlighting an underrecognized risk of such procedures.

Needle biopsy of a presumed left frontal neoplasm in a 39-year-old man.
The patient experienced persistent bleeding into the ventricular system post-procedure.

Autopsy revealed no neoplasm at the biopsy site.
