Computed tomographic arthrography (CTA) offers superior detection of cruciate ligament and proximal tibia defects in equine femorotibial joints compared to radiography, ultrasonography, and arthroscopy. However, arthroscopy remains the gold standard for diagnosing medial femoral condyle cartilage damage.
