A new nested reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) method effectively detects Cetacean Morbillivirus (CeMV) RNA in poorly preserved marine mammal tissues. This sensitive and cost-effective technique aids in diagnosing lethal viral infections in whales and dolphins.
