Summary

A new single-cannula arthroscopy technique for temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders offers an effective alternative to traditional methods. This advanced approach improves mouth opening and reduces pain with shorter surgery times.

Background:

Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the efficacy and efficiency of a novel single-cannula arthroscopy technique for TMJ disorders.
  • To compare the outcomes of this technique with the traditional double-puncture method.

  • Retrospective study of eight patients (13 TMJs) with refractory temporomandibular joint disorder (TMD).
