[Urinary excretion of free amino acids in patients with multiple sclerosis]
Abstract:
Marked disorders in the metabolism of free amino acids are characteristic of the disseminated sclerosis. This is pronounced in a dysaminoacidemia and hypoaminoacidemia, increased concentration of excretable free amino acids. Most severe hyperamonoaciduria is observed in the malignant fast progress of the disease. The changes are less pronounced in exacerbations of the remitting course and in slow progressing cases. This is evidently a reflection of reduction in catabolism in these variants of disseminated sclerosis.
