Purpose of the Study:

  • To investigate the demographic and clinical characteristics of synthetic cannabinoid (bonsai) users.
  • To raise awareness regarding the consumption patterns and associated risks in young people.

Main Methods:

  • Retrospective study conducted at Ümraniye Training and Research Hospital.
  • Inclusion of adult patients (≥18 years) presenting with synthetic cannabinoid intoxication over a two-year period (July 2012-June 2014).
  • Data analysis included frequency calculations presented as median and inter-quartile range.

  • 197 patients analyzed, predominantly male (96.4%).
  • Of 4 hospitalized patients, 2 demised; 52 left voluntarily, and 141 were discharged after observation.
