Teeth

2.1K
The formation of teeth, also known as odontogenesis, is a complex process that begins in utero, around the sixth week of embryonic development. There are three stages to this process: the bud stage, the cap stage, and the bell stage.
In the bud stage, the tooth germ (an aggregation of cells) starts to form in the developing jawbone. During the cap stage, the tooth germ differentiates into enamel organ, dental papilla, and dental sac, which will later develop into the tooth's enamel, dentin...

    Area of Science:

    • Dentistry
    • Digital Workflow
    • Restorative Dentistry

    Background:

    • Digital methods are established in dentistry, but a complete digital workflow for multi-unit layered restorations remains incomplete.
    • Many clinicians utilize Computer-Aided Design/Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAD/CAM) but a gap exists for full digital integration.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To guide practitioners in transitioning to a full digital workflow for dental restorations.
    • To demonstrate the application of digital processes in anterior cosmetic cases.
    • To analyze the advantages and disadvantages of a fully digital approach.

    Main Methods:

    • Describing the transition to a complete digital workflow.
    • Illustrating digital processes for anterior cosmetic dental cases.
