Advanced interatrial block (aIAB) is an independent risk factor for ischemic stroke. This finding supports considering left atrial disease as a significant contributor to stroke events.

- Advanced interatrial block (aIAB) is significantly associated with incident ischemic stroke.
- This study supports the consideration of left atrial disease as an independent stroke risk factor.
