[Autologous blood transfusion during cesarean section]

Autohemotransfusions were used in 29 pregnant patients who delivered by cesarean section. In spite of the fact that the scope of autoblood transfusion was smaller, as compared to that of preserved donor blood, postoperative blood characteristics were basically similar to those obtained with heteroblood transfusions. Owing to the stimulating effect of autoblood, the requirement for preserved donor blood becomes smaller. The method is safe and allows to avoid numerous complications arising from transfusions of preserved donor blood.
