- Affected areas included the thalamus, temporal pole, superior frontal gyrus, cerebellum, gyrus rectus, occipital lobe, anterior cingulate cortex, superior temporal gyrus, and postcentral gyrus.
Conclusions:
- Individuals with polysubstance use disorder demonstrate widespread reductions in gray matter volume.
- These structural differences are observed across frontal, temporal, occipital, and parietal lobes, as well as the cerebellum and anterior cingulate cortex.
