In brief A 24-year-old man had been reusing needles to inject anabolic-androgenic steroids intramuscularly and developed a thigh abscess. He was treated with intravenous antibiotics, and the abscess was surgically drained. The case highlights the danger of intramuscular steroid injection and of reusing needles.

Muscles of the Abdomen
3.9K
The abdominal wall encircles the abdominal cavity, providing flexible protection and shielding the internal organs from harm. It is bordered at the top by the xiphoid process and costal margins, at the back by the vertebral column, and at the bottom by the pelvic bones and inguinal ligament. The abdominal wall is divided into two regions — the anterolateral and posterior regions.

Ultrasonography
8.3K
Ultrasonography is an imaging technique that uses high-frequency sound waves to visualize the body's internal structures. It is a non-invasive and safe procedure that does not involve the use of ionizing radiation, making it widely used in various medical fields. Ultrasonography is used to study heart function, blood flow in the neck or extremities, certain conditions such as gallbladder disease, and fetal growth and development.
