Purpose of the Study:

  • To analyze serum BA composition and gut-derived hormone levels after lifestyle-induced weight loss in metabolic syndrome (MetS).
  • To investigate the impact of a telemonitoring-supervised weight loss program on metabolic parameters and BA profiles.

Main Methods:

  • Randomized controlled trial with 74 men (45-55 yr) with MetS.
  • Intervention: 6-month lifestyle-induced weight loss program via telemonitoring.
  • Measurements: Serum BA profile, FGF-19, GLP-1, clinical parameters, body composition before and after intervention.
