Summary

This case report details a rare transtriquetral perihamate fracture-dislocation with carpal instability. Prompt diagnosis and surgical treatment restored wrist function and range of motion.

Wrist injuries are common, but fractures of the pyramidal bone (triquetrum) with hamate dislocation and carpal instability are rare.
These injuries typically result from high-energy trauma and can involve neurovascular deficits or other carpal bone damage.

Observation:

A patient presented with pain, edema, and limited wrist motion after trauma.
Radiography revealed a transtriquetral perihamate fracture-dislocation with associated carpal instability.

Findings:

The study presents a rare case of transtriquetral perihamate fracture-dislocation.
Diagnosis was confirmed via radiography.
The case involved significant carpal instability.
