Abstract:
The author demonstrates the phenomenon of spontaneous echo-contrasting of the left atrium caused by the regurgitation stream verified intraoperatively in a female patient with associated mitral disease. It is shown that this phenomenon appears due to asymmetric regurgitation stream and disturbed mechanism of movement of the mitral valve.
