Professor Hetzer and colleagues at the Deutsches Herzzentrum Berlin describe their experience with continuous flow rotary blood pumps beginning in 1998. The Berlin team has implanted 10 different pumps in 908 patients, acquiring a unique and concentrated experience with important insights into the management of patients supported with this technology.
