Mitsugumin 53 protects the kidney from severe burn injury in mice

Mitsugumin 53 (MG53) protein reduces mortality and kidney damage following severe burns. This study shows MG53 protects renal tubular cells by interacting with polymerase I and transcript release factor (PTRF).
