[A case of Pendred's syndrome]

A very rate case of a combination of congenital deaf-mutism and sporadic goiter due to peroxidase insufficiency is presented. This condition is known as Pendred's syndrome. The special features of the case requiring surgical treatment in contrast to the generally accepted conservative attitude are pointed out.
