[Biometry of the tibia]

This study investigates the relations between 67 tibia parameters. For this investigation, 30 human tibia of unknown sex and age were examined from the bone collection of the Department of Anatomy of the University of Alcalá de Henares (Madrid). Many tibia parameter relationship were established, which were correlated through statistical analysis. 3 groups of parameters correlations were established: antero-posterior diameters of the diaphysis; perimeters of the diaphysis and width of the proximal extremity of the bone. The authors present the statistical values of all the measurements, which are of great anthropological interest.
