Abstract:
The author summarizes the principles ensuing from the multifactorial theory on the pathogenesis of disease for clinical work with psychosomatic patients; he describes problems which must be resolved when attempting psychological treatment of these patients and explains general principles of therapeutic strategies in psychosomatic medicine.
