Health promotion and elderly people

By the year 2000, among the fastest growing population segment will be those over 60 years of age. The elderly population will be healthier and better educated than at any time in history. There will be many more elderly people who have both the capability and desire to continue leading a productive life at work. The World Health Organization recognizes both the importance of this growing segment of the world's population, their needs for services as well as health promotion.
