Conclusions:

  • Actual telemedicine utilization in Medicaid remains low despite its potential benefits.
  • Behavioral health conditions are the primary focus of current telemedicine use within Medicaid.
  • Reimbursement policies alone are insufficient to drive broad telemedicine utilization in this population.
