Asphalt pavers show accelerated lung function decline, particularly in forced vital capacity (FVC) and forced expiratory volume in 1 second (FEV1), compared to road workers. This suggests asphalt fumes may cause adverse pulmonary effects, necessitating improved exposure prevention.
