Abstract:
Older people form a large part of adult medicine in general and have a complex and broad set of acute and long-term clinical problems, which is partly what drew me to this specialty. I am also interested in the nature of functional disabilities in older people - age-related changes in muscle function, mobility and balance, for example - and how these arise, and this has been the focus of my research over the years.
