Increased intestinal permeability markers, including lipopolysaccharide-binding protein (LBP) and intestinal fatty acid-binding protein (iFABP), are associated with type 2 diabetes (T2D). A higher permeability risk score (PRS) significantly increases the likelihood of having T2D.
