Background:

Purpose of the Study:

  • To assess the efficacy of corneal laser ablation with Q factor modification for vision correction in progressive keratoconus.
  • To evaluate the impact of targeting a near-normal postoperative Q value on visual and topographic parameters.
  • To compare outcomes between different preoperative Q factor groups.

Main Methods:

  • Prospective study of 50 eyes with keratoconus, divided into two groups based on preoperative Q factor (>-1 and ≤-1).
  • Preoperative and postoperative assessments included visual acuity (UDVA, CDVA), corneal topography (Pentacam), and Q factor measurement (Topolyzer).
