A pharmacist order entry protocol improved appropriate antibiotic selection for patients with methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) colonization undergoing orthopedic surgery. Dosing and redosing accuracy remained consistent, but timing analysis was impacted by patients on steady-state antibiotics.
