Summary

This study introduces a novel spleen-preserving partial splenectomy technique using radiofrequency (RF) technology. The method achieved minimal blood loss, preserving spleen function in a patient with a splenic cyst.

Background:

Spleen-preserving surgery aims to control bleeding and maintain splenic function.
Various partial splenectomy techniques exist.
Splenic cysts are a potential indication for surgical intervention.

Observation:

A novel partial splenectomy technique was developed.
A bipolar radiofrequency (RF) device was utilized for the procedure.
The technique was applied to a 21-year-old female patient with a splenic cyst.

Findings:

The novel technique resulted in almost no peroperative blood loss.
The spleen's function was preserved postoperatively.
This demonstrates the efficacy of RF device in spleen-preserving surgery.

Implications:

This technique offers a promising approach for spleen preservation.
It may reduce complications associated with traditional splenectomy.
Further research can explore its application in other splenic pathologies.
