A new flexible integrated system combines energy harvesting, storage, and detection using ink printing. This system powers perovskite nanowire photodetectors wirelessly, enabling advanced portable electronics.
Area of Science:
- Materials Science
- Energy Storage
- Nanotechnology
Background:
- Wearable and portable devices require integrated systems for energy harvesting, storage, and operation.
- Existing integrated systems often lack scalability, cost-effectiveness, or flexibility.
Purpose of the Study:
- To develop a simple, low-cost, and scalable strategy for fabricating a flexible integrated system.
- To demonstrate a system capable of wireless energy transfer, storage, and device operation.
Main Methods:
- Ink printing and electrochemical deposition were employed for fabrication.
- An all-solid-state asymmetric microsupercapacitor (MSC) using MnO2-PPy and V2O5-PANI composites was constructed.
- A photoconductive photodetector based on perovskite nanowires (NWs) and a wireless charging coil were integrated.
Main Results:
- The asymmetric MSC achieved energy densities of 15-20 mWh cm⁻³ at power densities of 0.3-2.5 W cm⁻³ with a 1.6 V potential window.
- The integrated system successfully stored wirelessly transmitted energy in the MSC.
- The MSC powered the perovskite NW photodetector, showing a stable photocurrent response comparable to external power sources.
Conclusions:
- A flexible integrated system with wireless charging, energy storage, and a perovskite photodetector was successfully fabricated.
- The proposed fabrication strategy is simple, scalable, and cost-effective.
- This research offers a valuable approach for developing advanced integrated systems for portable electronics.

Charging Conductors By Induction
Generally, conductors like metals do not allow any excess charge to be present on them. Any excess charge added to metals easily flows away, for example, when a metal is placed on the Earth. This process is called earthing.
However, conductors can be charged by a process called induction. For example, consider charging a...
