Simultaneous binaural bithermal caloric testing (SBT) is more sensitive for detecting peripheral vestibular pathology than alternate binaural bithermal caloric testing (ABB). SBT can identify reduced vestibular responses missed by ABB, aiding diagnosis when peripheral pathology is suspected.
